In the mid-1970s, Daniel Flannery was invited to contribute to the visual environment of David Mancuso’s legendary invitation-only Loft in downtown Manhattan. Working alongside friends from Bloomingdale’s display department, Flannery participated in shaping the atmosphere of the large private residential space that became one of New York’s most influential cultural gatherings. Its guests included John Lennon, Yoko Ono and leading figures from the city’s art and music communities. It was at The Loft that Flannery met Andy Warhol.
